【摘要】:Thistestmethodisasemiquantitativemicromethodintendedformonitoringthechangesinacidicconstituentsoccurringinlubricatingoilsduringoxidationtesting,whentheacidnumberofsuchoilsfallswithintherangefrom0.02to1.0mgofpotassiumhydroxidepergramofsample.Itisapplicabletosuchoilsasturbineoils,hydraulicoils,andothercirculatingoils.Note1-ThistestmethodisamicroversionofTestMethodD974anditproducesresultssimilartothatmethod.Thistestmethodisdesignedforusewheresamplesizeislimited.ItshallnotbeusedasareplacementforhigherprecisionmethodssuchasTestMethodsD974orD664.Itshallnotbeusedtomonitoroilsin-service.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
